Details
A small architecture is an architecture that contains only a handful of packages, installed using MultiArch on a system running a different architecture. The general examples are i386 as the primary architecture and athlon as the small architecture containing athlon instruction set packages that really benefit from it (media players, ssl, etc.)
In effect, all systems would become inherently MultiArch with the primary package set being compiled for the most generic architecture supported by them all; and small architectures
